The ongoing celebrations with the election of Dhaka, the capital of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, as the "2020 Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)," will continue with the "Sheikh Hasina 2020 Youth Volunteering Award" event. In order to support international volunteering, to encourage more young people around the world to participate in voluntary and humanitarian activities, and to share good practices, it is planned to give volunteer awards by the Government of the People's Republic of Banglades to individuals, groups, non-governmental organizations and organizations that carry out voluntary activities in OIC member countries.
Volunteering awards, which are planned to be given in five different categories: Volunteer Leadership, Media and Service Excellence, Online Volunteer Campaign, Best Innovative Idea and Outstanding Youth-led Voluntary Organization, will be evaluated in the context of activities carried out in the face of the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Volunteer awards, where candidates can apply in a maximum of two categories, are open to applications from OIC member countries, between the ages of 18 and 35.
